Mr. B- Executive Director/Principal

My name is Gary Baggett (a.k.a. Mr. B) and I am the Principal/Executive Director at The Palmetto School. I received my teaching degree from Pennsylvania State University in 2008. I received my Master’s in Educational Leadership from the University of South Carolina. This year will be my 18th year at the school, and most of that time I have been the middle school teacher and as the Assistant Principal. My favorite subject to teach is math, but I also feel the other academic subjects can be fun too!! It is my philosophy that everyone has the potential to learn and be successful. Learning never stops and we all have the ability to teach someone else.
I have been married to my wife Stacy for 17 years. We have three sons: James, Jarome, and Kydan. I have one grandson named Isaiah and I love spending time with him. At home I also have three dogs, four cats, three rats, and three hermit crabs!!
Ms. Walker- Assistant Principal

Hello! My name is Katie Walker, and I am thrilled to be a member of the The Palmetto School family serving as the Assistant Principal. Before joining the Palmetto School, I had the privilege to be an Elementary and Secondary School Counselor for nine years and the Dean of Student Leadership for the 2023-24 school year. I graduated from Washington University in Saint Louis with a degree in Educational Studies and Music – Voice, received my Masters in Clinical Mental Health and School Counseling from The Pennsylvania State University, and completed the Executive Leadership Studies degree program at Gardner-Webb University in 2020.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Zak, and our spunky toddler, Adalyn. We love the Clemson tigers, PSU Nittany Lions, playing outside, impromptu dance parties while singing at the top of our lungs, traveling and hanging out with our friends and extended family.
I can’t wait to get to know all the Palmetto School families. I firmly believe that each child has greatness and cannot wait to be a small part of their journey. Don’t hesitate to reach out if there is anything I can do to support your child and help make this the best school year yet!
Ms. Gordon- Executive Assistant

Hi! My name is Nijule Gordon. I am so excited to start the new school year with a new journey with The Palmetto School as Executive Assistant. I previously was the Behavioral Interventionist here. While I’m going to extremely miss having my one-on-one time with my students, I know this new journey will still hold purpose to continue to help with students and also to keep in touch with families. I am a mom of 2 beautiful girls Raelynn and Ava and soon to be mom of a precious baby boy Jaseer. Outside of school related things, I love being surrounded by family and creating memories. I’ve always enjoyed guiding and helping students throughout my years of experience with becoming successful and reaching their goals. I plan to continue my journey with The Palmetto School family with the years to come with love, guidance, and support! Can’t wait to meet each and every one of you!
